I start to smile as I log on. Several people on tonight! Yay!
Me: Hi Everybody!
Hi Kay!
Hey Kay!
How are you?
Hi! How did yesterday go?
Me: Good! Guess what? I did it! I stayed out of trouble!
Yay!
Good job!
Yeah, Kay, I knew you could do it...
:D
Me: Hey C, I saw your status...what happened?
Oh yeah, it's hilarious! She's in the middle of telling it now! Scroll up to read so far...
(Of course I'm ROFLMBO in minutes...)

Welcome to a typical night for me on the Learning Domestic Discipline Social Network.
The people I have met on here have completely become like family to me. There's the bad days. You may not know this about me, but I get in trouble a lot (oh, shut up!). It used to be, pre-Network days, that when I was a having a bad day, especially DD related, I used to have to deal with it alone. Now I go on the Network for support and to feel better, via talking to my fabulous friends! Sometimes I need to vent, and I can freely do that there. Other times, I need support (or to cry from laughing so hard, rather than the tears of frustration I had a few moments before!). Sometimes, too, there are times I'm not thinking right, and I need to be called on what I'm doing or thinking. To be encouraged to see things differently. I welcome it; I confess there are times I need it!
I go on when I'm having a good day too. These are the times when I can encourage others who may not be doing so well. My turn to give back and support, or share advice! Then there are the times, like the example referred to above, I'm trying SO HARD to stay out of trouble, or resist temptation, and for whatever reason, it's not working. These are the times my network family becomes my cheer squad, giving me strength I don't always have by myself.
I've talked about this network a few times on my blog. Because it has become so a part of my life! My friends out in blogland have been wonderful. But sometimes it's hard to get to know someone when we have to be so secretive in the online world. A network like this one allows a little more ability to drop the anonymity, and get to know people for who they are. My friends from blogland that have joined have gone from being online friends to actual friends! It's great! It's an unbelievable experience that I can't believe I once had to live without!
So why am I telling you all this? Because after going through the trepidation of signing up, discovering what it's all about, and being blown away by how cool it is, I believe in it! And I want to encourage you to come check it out for yourself! Come join us! You can check it out for free, no strings attached, for one week. After that you can choose whether you want to continue and pay the measly $4.76 (or $7.96 for couples) per month that it costs. I say $4.76 because you get 20% off if you mention my name; how cool is that? So that's less than $5, people! Now in spite of that it's less than $5 a month, I know the idea of paying for this kind of site may be an immediate turnoff to some. Believe me, though, this is not a money making venture! This is a complicated site that's really expensive to host and maintain! And three weeks ago, it was almost going to be shut down because of that (I was near devasted when I heard). Now we're banding together to increase membership so that it will stay strong. So think of it more like dues. We help pay the cost, and when you look at it, it's a small price compared to the benefits. This is like a Facebook site (with chat added) for DD; it's unique, unlike anything I've seen out there. Again, check it out if you don't believe me, and see if you don't agree...I dare ya! The advantage of all of us helping to pay the costs, too, is that the people who are on here are here because they're serious. And there's way less of a chance that troublemakers will be on the site causing problems, as what I've noticed happens with free sites.
Anyway, that's my take on it. Here's the official scoop:
Advantages –
- LIVE, real time chat feature where many of us gather daily to talk, share stories, encourage and support each other in our trials and successes with Domestic Discipline.
- Every person that is a part of the Network is practicing Domestic Discipline within their relationship and the experience is varied – from months to years. It’s a judgement-free environment. And a wonderful way to meet other individuals and couples that share the same experience.
- Numerous forum discussions, polls, Q&A posts – something for everyone, whether you’re interesting in reading or participating.
- So many more but would take pages to list them all…
$5.95 (for an individual) or $9.95 (for a couple). But mention my name (Kay) and get 20% off for the whole time you're a member!
