So I wanted to thank all of you for your incredibly sweet comments of encouragement, and give a follow-up to my last post so you know what happened.
I did get a few things done by the time Jay walked in the door, but not much. He didn't say anything, and he didn't check my journal. I was relieved, but I still felt out of sorts. I was emotional, wondering if I should tell him that my day had not gone well; torn between wanting to share, so I'd feel better, and really not wanting to be in trouble!
Jay, perceptive like he is, noticed I was not my happy cheery self and gathered me in his arms. "Kay, Sweetie, what's wrong?" he asked.
Unable to hold it back any longer, I burst into tears. "I want to tell you, but I don't want to be in trouble!" I admitted.
He just hugged me tighter. "I know you didn't focus at all well today, and I know a few other things too. You definitely had an off day. It happens." Then he assured me of his love, and to make me smile, playfully started crooning to me the lullaby he sings to our son. I started laughing, and instantly felt better. My man is truly wonderful!
Then we watched a movie, and after finally getting our fussy teething son (poor little guy!) to sleep, we spent some time cuddling. It was perfect.
Until...
I um...forgot the no sock in the bed rule, and when he lectured me about it, suddenly got the bright idea that it would be funny to take off my (slightly only!) dirty socks and put them on his face. Yeah, that didn't go over too well. He didn't think it was funny at all, and so I still ended the night on my stomach. Dang. Won't do that again!
But overall, it did turn out to be a better day. :)
Aww, that was a really nice beginning to my day...to hear that things went better that you feel better! But socks in his face girl? :?

Oh Kay...I'd get spanked for putting socks in his face too. Silly lady! Every once in a while I'll toss my dirty laundry at him instead of in the hamper...an equally bad idea BTW.
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad he came home and saw that you were having a hard time. What a good guy.
So glad your day got better!! Good for you!! The socks... hhmmm... almost sounds like you were asking for that one!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here giggling about the socks! I, of course, would never, ever do something mischievous like that. hehehe Glad your day got better! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were feeling better by bedtime, but, socks in his face... really?! Kind of sounds like something I would do. :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I agree with the others about the socks in his face - you had that one coming!
ReplyDeleteHowever, glad he understood that you weren't having a good day!
Socks?!! I'd be more concerned if Mitch had to through HIS socks in MY face lol! For good reason let me tell you!
ReplyDeleteAnd aww, teething....... I can sympathise, but me and teeth are a sore point just now anyways lol :(
Dee x
Well, I just got through writing my brilliant comment on your last post! Anyway, I'm glad your day ended with you feeling better.
ReplyDeletePS--you wanted that spanking didn't you? I mean... socks in his face?
Huge intake of shocked breath I just had there lol! I mis-spelled throw!!!!! Just to let you know, my pet hate, I hate to do this........this will annoy me for days!!
ReplyDeleteSara--Yeah, I know, I know...(hanging head in shame)...not my brightest moment...
ReplyDeleteSusie--Okay, I won't do that either, LOL! And yeah, he is a pretty great guy!
Mikki--Thanks! And no, I just annoyed at the lecture, lol!
Grace--Okay, yeah, it was kinda funny...but trust me, don't, lol, it's not worth it!
D--Thanks! And I'm glad I'm not alone! :)
C--Yeah, I know. Sheesh, I shock myself sometimes! And me too!
Dee--My guy too, lol! Maybe I should be glad I got spanked instead of him doing it back to me... Yeah teething is horrible, thankfully he's doing better today, though! And I know, spelling errors drive me crazy when I make them too--you can, I believe, erase your own comments and repost them (I've done that a few times). But I didn't even notice it to tell you the truth, lol!
Mick--No, lol, you're right on (about last post). Jay usually does spank regardless, this was a rare moment when he decided to do something different, probably because I'd been trying so hard lately. Today, though, is a different story (although I did do way better, just still not up to expectation as I just found out, ouch. Yeah I know, you feel so sorry for me, lol). And about your P.S: NO! I promise you I didn't! Just a severe lack of judgment on my part...to say an understatement! :)
What a sweet husband you have! I love how he handled the situation.
ReplyDeleteSock on his face huh? Ill try that one soon... NOT!
Awwwww, sweet of him to understand. I totally bet that I could but dirty socks on Rob's face and get away with it. But...I am still a little sore so I won't try it right now. :)
ReplyDeleteJessica--Yeah, he is pretty sweet :) And good decision, lol!
ReplyDeleteLasey--Yeah, you might be able to, lol...just don't say I didn't warn ya! But yeah, SO don't be mischievous when you're sore! Even I know better than that! ;)
